1. What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how PrivConvert handles information when you use privconvert.app. It applies to the website, tool pages, browser-based file processing, and download workflows.
2. File processing
PrivConvert is local-first. Tool inputs are handled in your browser whenever the selected tool can run locally. The app may use browser features such as Web Workers, IndexedDB, OPFS, WebAssembly, OffscreenCanvas, or media APIs to process files and prepare downloads.
Browser storage may temporarily hold input or output artifacts so a conversion can complete and the result can be downloaded. This storage belongs to your browser and origin; it is not an account-based cloud file library. You can clear site data from your browser settings.
We do not ask you to create an account before using tools, and we do not intentionally copy uploaded files into long-term server storage.
3. Information we collect
We aim to collect as little information as possible:
- No accounts are required to use the tools.
- No email address is required for conversion.
- No first-party analytics profile is required by the app.
- No conversion history is attached to a user account.
- Configured analytics events do not intentionally include selected file contents, filenames, raw pasted text, or generated output contents.
Standard hosting, CDN, and security infrastructure may process routine request data such as IP address, user agent, URL, timestamp, and security signals. This operational data is used to deliver the site, reduce abuse, and keep the service reliable.
4. Cookies and local storage
PrivConvert does not require tracking cookies for conversion. Your browser may store local data needed for file handling, job state, output downloads, preferences, or site functionality. Hosting or security providers may set strictly necessary cookies for traffic protection or bot mitigation.
5. How information is used
Limited operational information may be used to:
- Deliver pages, scripts, and tool assets.
- Run the file or text operation you requested.
- Protect the service from abuse and automated traffic.
- Diagnose reliability and security problems.
- Measure aggregate page performance and tool usage so we can improve navigation and reliability.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information for behavioral advertising or user profiling.
6. Third-party services
PrivConvert uses Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery, security, and page-performance measurement. Cloudflare may process routine request and browser performance data when delivering the site.
PrivConvert uses Plausible through a custom collection domain for page views and configured product events. Event properties are limited to operational fields such as tool slug, category, input type, file count, size bucket or total size, MIME type, run status, duration, and output count or type. The app does not intentionally place file contents, filenames, raw pasted text, or generated output contents in these events.
Package or model asset providers may deliver browser-side processing libraries. Those requests are for application code or assets; the app is designed not to send your selected files to those providers for storage. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and Plausible's privacy overview for provider information.
7. Data security
The site should be served over HTTPS. Tool pages validate accepted file types and limits before processing. Because browser-based file processing depends on browser capabilities and third-party file formats, you should only process files you have permission to handle.
8. Children's privacy
PrivConvert is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your choices
You can stop using the site at any time, clear local site data from your browser, delete downloaded output files from your device, and block non-essential browser storage through your browser settings.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
