Overview

Burn timed captions into a short video

Choose a short video and paste subtitles with timestamps to make the captions part of the picture. This is useful when a player or sharing platform does not load a separate subtitle file. The conversion runs locally and accepts videos up to 100 MB and 180 seconds.

Prepare caption timing before converting

Each caption needs its text and a time window. Use an SRT entry such as 1, followed by 00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:03,000 on the next line and your caption on the line after that. Separate entries with a blank line. If you trim the video first, adjust the timestamps to match the new clip.

Can I add subtitles to an MP4?

Yes. MP4 is supported, and WebM sources are converted to MP4 by this workflow. Short MOV and MKV inputs are also accepted when their codecs are supported.
