Is Compress Video free to use?
Yes. This tool is free to use in your browser and does not require an account.
Are my files private?
Compress Video uses ffmpeg.wasm in the browser. Selected files are processed locally when the required browser features are available, while application, library, model, security, and limited analytics requests may load separately.
What limits should I know about?
1 file · 100 MB max · 180 sec max. Short clips work best. Large or complex files may take longer or fail.
How do the compression levels differ?
High quality keeps up to 1080p, Balanced limits width to 1280 pixels, Strong uses 960 pixels, and Smallest uses 720 pixels with progressively stronger codec compression.
Will every compressed video be smaller?
Not always. Already-efficient videos may not shrink. With the default fallback enabled, the original file is returned instead of a larger encoded copy.
