Choose settings for a smaller animation

Start with a short segment at 480 or 720 pixels wide and 10 to 12 FPS. Shortening the clip and reducing its dimensions usually make the biggest difference. Then adjust quality if the file is still too large.

  • Width: 160 to 1280 pixels; height follows the source proportions.
  • Frame rate: 1 to 30 FPS; higher values make movement smoother and increase file size.
  • Animated WebP contains no audio. Use a video format when sound is needed.
